Innovation— Dreaming Bigger to Expand the Promise of Gwinnett
The principal goal of education is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done.”
                                                            Jean Piaget (Psychologist)

Dear Parents and Guardians,
History shows us that the world doesn’t stand still. We’re preparing our kids for a world that doesn’t yet exist, for jobs that haven’t shown up on “Career Day” programs, and for problems they will be uniquely suited to solve as the first generation of young people to have grown up entirely in the 21st century. I’m so excited about what the future holds for our students! And I know that the teaching and learning that goes on at Mason each day is bringing your child one step closer to his or her future. Our students have big dreams and we’re helping them to dream bigger and gain the knowledge and skills, so they can follow their imagination and pursue those dreams.

I hope you’ve had an opportunity to attend one of the school activities this year that have focused on the ways in which our teachers are transforming the classroom for our kids. Through classroom innovation, teachers promote collaboration, give real-world context, provide hands-on opportunities, and foster 21st century learning for our students. At our school, students have a wealth of opportunities that fit their learning style and educational goals, including our STEM focus, project-based learning and other innovative approaches. With our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative, we’re leveraging technology and eCLASS resources to enhance the classroom experience.

Our partners in the community have stepped up to support and extend innovative opportunities as we work together to prepare students for the next school level, college, careers, and life. We appreciate their support in all its forms, from grants and donations to volunteers and collaboration opportunities. Now, more than ever, it will take the commitment of all stakeholders and a focus on innovation in the classroom to prepare students for their future in a global economy.

At Mason we pledge our commitment to provide your student with engaging lessons and opportunities to grow as a critical thinker, creative problem-solver and effective communicator. Innovative instruction and a future-focused learning environment will help your student thrive as a curious, analytical, imaginative, and adaptable learner. Again, I’m so excited about what the future holds for our students! So, look out, world… amazing kids are headed your way!

Thank you for all that you do at home to support your student’s learning at our school. That’s the Promise of Gwinnett, working together to ensure a future filled with promise for all students.
